Wow! So Faith is now 9.5 months old, where has the time gone? She has two teeth, is crawling, cruising, pulling up and is SLOWLY starting to eat real food. She has been refusing baby food, she prefers "real" food that she has to chew, like fruit and crackers. The boys still absolutely adore her, and she grins so big when they talk to her. I am so blessed to have three beautiful kids, who have such tender hearts.
I have also started homeschooling Cayden this year, we are on day 2 and it seems to be going well. Bryson has been doing some school also, since his first day of preschool isn't for a week. They are both so excited to be in school. It seems that lately they are becoming the best of friends, today they disappeared upstairs to play legos and playmobil for almost 2 hours! So glad they have each other! I sat and held Faith, since every time i put her down she cried for mama.
The last bit of crazy news is I called Gladney Adoption Agency to find out some information about adopting from Ethiopia, or possibly domestic adoption. We will talk to someone about the details and if it is from Ethiopia it will be about 18 mos till we can have our set of siblings home! and YES we want two! Praying for God's hand in it all and that He will lead us in the direction that is His will! It has been on my heart since I was a small child to adopt children, I can't even explain the excitement I feel that it may become reality soon!!!

my kids, my gifts
Little F is going to be 5 months old this week, I wonder where did the time go? I am not a big fan of the baby stage, but with her I have enjoyed it immensely. Maybe because she might be my last, maybe because i feel I missed out of B's, maybe b/c God was showing me the beauty of infants. Whatever the reason I am sad to see this time going by so quickly. She is the sweetest little thing, the way she smiles with her whole body when she sees me coming into her room in the am, or when her brothers play with her. I love how she snuggles her head into my chest and sucks her thumb.
Sometimes I sit on the couch and just watch my kids and wonder what I did to deserve such gifts. C is soon to be 5, and it amazes me to see all that he has learned and how he has grown these past 5 years. I see in him such a softness, kindness and sensitivity to everything around him. When he takes a break from playing to run over to his sister and give her the biggest hug and kiss with the words I love you, then runs over to finish playing, my heart melts. I love that he is so gentle and caring towards her. he has such a sweet spirit!
B is a fiery one! The determination, the willfullness, even the blatant defiance to a request I make, allows me to see into his heart. He is not a quiet gentle spirit like his brother, but a go getter, one who thinks and does his own thing. As I watch him, know he will go far later in life with these qualities.
I look at these little beings that God has given me and I am always amazed at the differences in them. I can see how after having such a compliant child with C, how when B came along with his strong willed Independence how a parent could be frustrated. I believe children are a gift from God, and we are to raise them to serve Him. I am reminded how we need to nurture their HEARTS, and encourage their spirits. We are not to smash their spirits, so that they conform and be more like everyone else, so that society approves them. One of the biggest mistakes we can make as parents is to try and change who they are, and to use behavior modification to conform them. We need to focus on changing their hearts, and who they are on the inside. We need to listen to them, and hear their thoughts and ideas, we need to get down on the floor and play with them everyday, to let them know we love them and that we care about them. How many times have they come to me and asked me to play and I say not now, i am doing dishes, or laundary? That will all be here when they are gone, so I try and take the time to play with them everyday and love them unconditionally for who they are.
Children will learn if they come to you and want to talk and you repeatedly say, I am busy....they learn you are not there for them. And then when the teenage years hit, and we want to know what is going on in their lives, they will have been taught to keep it in.
OK, not sure how i got off track, but I am having a sentimental moment on the beauty of my kids, and how precious they are. I hope when they are grown they will have fond and wonderful memories of their childhood,. As I lay with them everynight, I treasure the moments I have with them, I realize that someday, they won't be snuggled all safe in their beds, they will be out on their own, and the nights that i have to kiss them and tell them goodnight face to face will be a thing of the past. I wish I could freeze time sometimes and hold on to these precious days.

Sorting through chaos
So I am not so good at blogging, it seems I can only get it in once a month! I am in the midst of such chaos in my life. We have started C in Cyberschool, it is preK through Calvert. He already knows the stuff from his preschool, so we are just doing the motions, to get the K curriculum. He really enjoys it! The boys are both in gymnastics and are enjoying that alot. It is great to see them learning together. C is also in swimming, he taught himself to swim last summer so I am hoping he can become more efficient at it with the class.
Taking three kids there has been a challenge: Here is how it went last week.
We arrive at class, C is told he can't use his goggles with the nose cover, so they give him ones that cover only the eyes. (now keep in mind he won't go under water w/o goggles....) they start to head to the other side of the pool and he starts crying and holding onto me. I am able to walk him down to the other side of the pool, he is clinging to my leg, B is walking ever so slowly behind me, and i am just carrying F, trying to get her to not fuss since it is nap time for her. We get to the end of the pool and they divide the class into two parts, those that aren't afraid of the water and will swim with help, and those that are afraid of the water. So of course C goes to the side of being afraid of the water, because he wouldn't put his face in the water last week b/c we didn't have goggles and now he is screaming like a mad man b/c they want him to get IN the water... I sit on the bench while he screams MOMMMY....I WANT MOMMY!!! this goes on for 5 mins, the instructors try and calm him and tell him he is okay and that they won't let him go in the water...so I go over and tell him if he doesn't get in the water we are not going to L's house. he jumps into the instructor and then continues sobbing. Meanwhile I am standing trying to shush faith. Well B is on the bench, the next thing i know he fall through the seat, his shoes fly off and he is now crying hysterically. I pass F off to some lady sitting next to me, gather up B and his shoes, and try to calm him, C is still crying MOMMY....I just want to crawl into a hole. B sits next to me crying while I try and tell cayden if he puts his face in the water he can move to this side of the pool closer to me. So he decides hey this swimming isn't so bad after all....he starts going under and touching the bottom of the pool, putting his face in the water and enjoying himself. B stops crying but refuses to put his shoes on, F has fallen asleep on my shoulder.
Swim class is over now I have to get all three kids in the locker room, help C get out of his swim trunks and into clothes while holding a sleeping baby. Well she wakes up and we do a super job of putting C's clothes on and getting the heck out of there.... I felt completely out of control, and I am sure everyone was looking at me feeling sorry for me, not a good day for being a mom of three...sigh. hopefully next week will go better. I meas SERIOUSLY he can swim on his own and they are teaching him how to blow bubbles....he WILL swim next week!!
I don't know how people do it with multiple kids. I am trying to figure out how to simplify my life somehow, and stop all the running. I don't know how to do it. I wish I were more organized. I need to be! My house is a disaster, i feel like my life is a tornado. I am always running, and feeling like it is out of control. I need a maid, and a personal assistant. I need more quiet time with my saviour. I need more time with my husband.
I need less time on the internet and less time on the phone. My kids need less time in front of the tv.
well i am off to try another day here on this earth, hoping i can make the most of it and try and get this life of mine together!
